HimalayanTechies
After seven years in business, HT focuses almost exclusively on browser-based business applications.

We have the capability to tackle sidelines (e.g. data mining, voice messaging, EAI integration, SEO, etc), and have successfully done so, but find our strength lies in applying our agile experience to building complex business applications.
HimalayanTechies maintains expertise in three technical platforms, with senior leadership teams in place and research/self-training allocated to each:
  • LAMP/open source, in which our developers are sleuths in finding tools to cut back on re-inventing the wheel; if it’s out there, we’ll find it
  • Java
  • .NET
Success Story: Optimizing electricity usage and billing… Dreams come to fruition!
A data collection and reporting system to optimize energy costs was simply a vision in one man’s mind when we first connected. Less than six months later he was able to demonstrate his product for sales and marketing and EnergyChaser is now establishing itself as the solution to beat. A hosted or purchased browser-based application, supported by an extremely complex database to manage the labyrinthine rate structures for electricity billing and allocation to tenants, and producing an array of reports for building managers…
Success Story: From manual chaos to
multi-business-unit HR harmony…
HT built a custom human resources system for one of Nepal’s largest merchant houses, that represents global brands such as Honda and Phillips as well as running twenty independent in-country businesses. We worked with the corporate group to bring a purely manual system into the 21st century to manage every facet of their complicated HR requirements. Scrum software development let them try functions and think well beyond their existing procedures, producing a truly ‘state-of-their-art’ application
Success Story: Global market demands SaaS, and gets it.
Our client provides online services to exhibitors, enabling them to view information about the shows in which they are participating and to manage all aspects of their booths. Their online platform We allows exhibition and conference organizers to share information about exhibitors and collaborate in managing shows. As the client grew to a more mature SaaS model, HT developed a number of modules in .NET platform that were integrated into the core Java system. The modules include the automatic email suite that maintained multi-lingual email templates, manual and automatic email sending, search feature, and auditing; customizable branded front end access mechanism that interact with the core system to provide a convenient form of access for exhibitors.
Success Story: Fairly and efficiently processing thousands of grant applications…
We built a grants management system for the second largest community foundation in the US. With as many as seven assigned to it at any one time, the project spanned 18 months. The final product was very tightly integrated with industry leader Blackbaud’s financial software for non-profits. This was a highly emergent solution, with ideas for new function and changes handed to us almost daily.
Success Story: Client's needs shift; HimalayanTechies adapts.
We began a long-term relationship with Loyalty Matrix (LMI, now owned by Responsys, an on-demand marketing company) in 2004. At first we worked on building up LMI’s MatrixOptimizer, a proprietary marketing analytics-specific application used to provide business intelligence and consulting to clients such as 24 Hour Fitness, Apple Computer and the LA Times. From there we expanded our work to code an open source presentation layer application – openI. Finally, we began to do much of the back end data collection, mining, warehousing and OLAP reporting for LMI/Responsys’ business analysts to use with their clients.
